I am back! And the first video I’d like to share is “Under the Sea” by Timeflies. My obsession with this band started when I had one song of theirs stuck in my head since September. I didn’t know what the song was called then, but I found out who sang it earlier this month. It only took 4 months, no big deal. It’s a little risky to listen to this bad boy. It’s too late for me as I’m addicted, but maybe-just maybe-you can save yourself if you’re not too tempted.

I wish I could understand/speak Arabic. The instrumental is so soothing though. It has a Bollywood-esque feel to it, so maybe that’s why it felt so normal as if I were listening to any other Hindi song. It’s definitely a song to close your eyes to, kick back, relax, and let the music sweep you away.

Remember New Soul by the same artist? If you don’t, shame on you. Go youtube it. During my first listen, I really only paid attention to the melody to which her voice blends in beautifully. I found myself in another world. Okay, not another world or else I’d probably have an oxygen tank strapped to me since God-knows-what is out there. But I found myself in a different place. Garden-like, sunny, dream-like, absolutely gorgeous. Who knew a song could do such a thing?

I’m So Tired of Being Alone - Al Green

I first heard this on Nip/Tuck. I know I’m only 18, going on 19, and I’ve got my life ahead of me, but this is how I currently feel. I’m not going to go into all the sappy/sad shit (excuse my language) since it’s really no one else’s business but my own. All I can say though is that I’m tired of living a routine life: staring at a screen for the majority of the day, going for a run by myself (which is nice when you’re surrounded by people all day and need to be at peace of mind), and going to work. A little soul really does help heal the spirit though. I guess I found a new genre of music to resort to for moments like these.
